Viano Quartet
Biography
The Viano Quartet, formed in Los Angeles and later based in New York, has won major prizes and held an impressive sequence of residencies. The Viano Quartet was formed in 2015 at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, where the group later became the first to hold the position of artists-in-residence. The membership, consistent since that time, consists of violinists Hao Zhou and Lucy Wang, violist Aiden Kane, and cellist Tate Zawadiuk. The Viano Quartet's collaborators are a prestigious group that includes pianists Marc-André Hamelin and Emanuel Ax. In 2023, the Viano Quartet released its debut album, Portraits, on the Curtis Studio label; the players graduated that year from the Curtis Institute.
