Solomon's Knot

Biography

Solomon's Knot is an innovative Baroque ensemble based in London that performs without a conductor, from memory, to connect more directly with their audiences. Seeking to present familiar works in ways that provide a new perspective, they use contextual programming and creative performance locations. Their debut album, Magnificat: Christmas in Leipzig (2019), gathered festive music by Kuhnau, Bach, and Schelle. Bach: Motets (2023) was recorded in the Bach Church in Arnstadt, while the ensemble was at Kirby Hall for Lost Majesty: Sacred Songs and Anthems by George Jeffreys (2024). That year also brought an album of Telemann's late sacred music, followed closely by J.S. Bach's Horns (2025), encompassing Bach's Mass in F major and Hunt Cantata.
