La Tempête

French vocal and instrumental ensemble La Tempête has attempted to present classical music in a new way, through staging and collaborations that immerse audiences in the spirit of a work. Rooted in Baroque music, the group mixes early music and contemporary works and collaborates with ensembles outside musical media. La Tempête was founded in 2015 by Simon-Pierre Bestion. La Tempête and Bestion issued the album Monteverdi: Vespro, featuring Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Vergine, SV, 206, in 2019, and three years later, released the album Hypnos. In 2024, the group released the album Orlando: A Melancholic Portrait, rethinking the works of Orlando di Lasso for a modern context.
