Ignacio Prego

Harpsichordist Ignacio Prego specializes in the Baroque repertoire and divides his activity between solo recitals, ensemble directing, and collaborations with period-instrument groups. Winner of the First Prize at the Westfield International Harpsichord Competition in 2012, he places the music of Johann Sebastian Bach at the center of his work while exploring the Italian and Iberian repertoires of the 18th century. Released in 2025, the album Napoli inedita: Scarlatti, Sarri, Vinci, Vignola, recorded with his ensemble Tiento Nuovo and singers Alicia Amo and Xavier Sabata, reflects this interest in rediscovering rare works from the Neapolitan tradition.
