Antonino Fogliani

Antonino Fogliani established himself among the major operatic conductors of his generation, appearing at major festivals and opera houses around the world. His repertoire in that realm was expansive, with a considerable focus on Rossini, and he covered the genre's most popular works by composers such as Verdi, Mozart, and Puccini. He also mounted productions of rarer works by the opera's greats as well as music by lesser-known composers such as Francesco Morlacchi and Nicola Vaccai. Fogliani was the music director of the Rossini in Wildbad Festival and the principal guest conductor of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. In 2021, Fogliani became a professor of orchestral conducting at the Conservatorio di Musica Alessandro Scarlatti in Palermo. In 2024, he issued a recording of Rossini's rarely heard opera Ermione.
