Iken Scholars
Biography
Named after Iken, a Suffolk village where St. Botolph built a monastery, the ensemble Iken Scholars brings together singers from diverse professional backgrounds united by a passion for early music scholarship and performance. From the beginning, the ensemble distinguished itself not by broad repertorial range, but by a specialized focus on rediscovery, building programs around little-known sacred works and the cultural worlds that produced them. Founded by conductor Matthew Dunn, the chamber choir is known for performances of Renaissance polyphony, scholarly programming, and projects that have brought neglected sacred repertoire to modern audiences. The Lambeth Anonymous, released in 2025, represents the Iken Scholars' core mission: scholarly recovery and sensitive artistic interpretation.
