Sonya Yoncheva

Soprano Sonya Yoncheva rocketed to prominence in the mid-2010s with a series of appearances at top houses. Her background is unusual in that it was closely associated with Baroque music. As her career has developed, it has included that repertory but has also encompassed traditional Romantic-era works. Yoncheva has recorded for various labels, including Sony Classical and Pentatone, and in 2025, she moved to the Naïve label for the album George, devoted to the music surrounding French writer George Sand.
