Pudi Lehmann

Biography

Multi-instrumentalist Pudi Lehmann performs and records with various ensembles, notably those led by violinist Paul Giger. Most active as an avant-garde percussionist with international influences, he is also a noted educator. For the first part of his career, Lehmann played early jazz on the trumpet with his childhood friend, clarinetist Tinu Heiniger. Lehmann was also active in progressive rock with the 1970s band Lost Peace. Lehmann then undertook training as a percussionist, becoming fascinated by gongs, singing bowls, and ringing metals, investigating various world music traditions, and traveling to Asia. Lehmann appeared as a percussionist on Paul Giger's album Ars Moriendi in 2022.
