Grete Pedersen
Biography
Among Scandinavia's most innovative and sought-after choral conductors, Grete Pedersen has been the director of the Norwegian Soloists' Choir since 1990. When she was young, she chose music over a star career as a Norwegian soccer player. Pedersen made her recording debut with the Norwegian Soloists' Choir in 1998 with the album Lasse Thoresen: From Sweet-Scented Streams of Eternity. Several of their albums have earned major European recording-industry awards. In 2023, Pedersen and the Norwegian Soloists' Choir issued the album Bent Sørensen: St. Matthew Passion. Pedersen is professor of choral conducting at the Norwegian Academy of Oslo.
