Patrick Langot

Biography

The versatile French cellist Patrick Langot has a dual career as a player of Baroque and modern instruments. His repertory ranges from music of the 17th to the 21st centuries. Langot founded the Quintette Syntonia in 1999. That group remained active as of the mid-2020s. Langot's recording debut came on an album featuring Greif's The Battle of Agincourt. In the 2010s, he served as lead cellist for the Baroque groups Les Musiciens du Louvre and Orfeo 55. In 2019, he released a solo album, Præludio, and, in 2020, the Quintette Syntonia, with soprano Maya Villanueva and cellist Emmanuelle Bertrand, issued an album of chamber music by Benoît Menut. Langot returned in 2024 with the album Alas.
