In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We started 29 years ago founded by clarinettist Stuart King as a chamber collective, named for Derek Jarman's book CHROMA which he was reading at the time. We were hooked on new music then, as now -collaborating with composers is still our great joy. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? 29 many-storied years makes it difficult to pick! Highlights include 10 Shetland/Fair Isle music & art residencies since 2002; opera premieres we've done with the Royal Opera (10 since 2011) & Tete a Tete (associate ensemble since 2006).
