She has also begun a career as an educator in the U.S. Kim amassed a strong record at competitions, taking prizes at the 2008 Hong Kong International Piano Competition and the Steinway and Sons Advancement Award Competition, among others. Kim released her first album, a recording of Rachmaninov's Piano Concertos Nos. 1 and 2 with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. She has returned to the recording studio several times, issuing the recital Miroirs in 2021. In 2024, she joined cellist Yoshika Masuda on the album Hidden Flame.
