Daniel Bernard Roumain

Violinist and composer Daniel Bernard Roumain blends classical, electronic, and African-American popular traditions into works in a variety of classical genres alongside film scores and collaborations with popular musicians. His concert works have been commissioned and performed by a long list of American orchestras, and he has scored for films including Ailey. He has been a professor at Arizona State University since 2016. Roumain's discography reflects his eclecticism. His earliest recording was Dance Music, Vol. 1-3 in 2000, with notable other albums include I, Composer (2004) for solo electric-violin and the experimental genre-melding Woodbox Beats & Balladry (2010). The chamber piece And Still We Cross appeared on the 2026 album We the People by the Apollo Chamber Players.
