Biography

Conductor Luciano Acocella has had a wide-ranging career, including work in France, Germany, and the Low Countries, in addition to his native Italy, in both opera and symphonic music. His recording career has focused on little-known operas of the early 19th century. Acocella made his operatic debut in Copenhagen in 2000, leading a performance of Britten's The Rape of Lucretia. Acocella's album debut came in 2006 on a recording of Bellini's opera I Capuleti e i Montecchi. In 2017, he joined the Virtuosi Brunensis in Brno, Czech Republic, and a cast of mostly Eastern European singers for recordings on the Naxos label of Rossini's rarely performed Adelaide di Borgogna and Demetrio de Polibio. He led the Kraków Philharmonic in a rendition of Auber's Le Philtre in 2023.
