Charles Cole

Biography

Conductor and organist Charles Cole directs the Schola Cantorum of the London Oratory School. Cole's first musical experiences came as a chorister at Westminster Cathedral and went on to serve as an organ scholar there. Cole directed the children's choir in a 400th-anniversary performance of Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610, collaborating with the Monteverdi Choir and its director, John Eliot Gardiner. In 2012, Cole became director of the Schola Cantorum of the London Oratory School. He appeared on several recordings as chorus master or choir director, including the soundtrack of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Pt. 1, in 2010. Cole was involved in several capacities with the London visit of Pope Benedict XVI. Cole and the Schola Cantorum released the albums Sacred Treasures of Christmas and Sacred Treasures of Spain in 2020. They returned in 2024 with Sacred Treasures of Venice.
