Isaura String Quartet

Biography

The Los Angeles-based Isaura String Quartet specializes in contemporary music, often in collaborative contexts involving visual artists as well as other musicians. The group members have, in their own words, "established a reputation as progressive disruptors." The Isaura String Quartet was formed in the Los Angeles area in 2013. The members are violinists Emily Call and Madeline Falcone and cellist Betsy Rettig. Violist Jonathan Morgan often fills out the group but is not listed as a permanent member on its website. The group recorded for the first time in 2017, appearing on the electro-pop album Romaplasm by Baths. In 2020, the group appeared with experimental pop group Man Man on the album Dream Hunting in the Valley of the In-Between. Three years later, the quartet made its primary artist debut on the album David T. Little: Black Lodge with Timur and the Dime Museum.
