In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories are of watching my father play the organ. I was fascinated by the sound of the instrument, its dynamic range, and orchestral capabilities. I knew from a very young age what I wanted to do. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bill Evans Trio, Waltz for Debby (Remastered) [Live] Bruce Springsteen, Born to Run Peter Phillips, The Tallis Scholars, Thomas Tallis: The Complete English Anthems I have eclectic tastes, as you can see. To me, these are perfect albums in their respective genres. These are my desert island discs–-the ones that continue to amaze and inspire even after decades of listening. Tell us why you chose this song. “Adagio for Strings, Op. 11 (arr. for organ)” It was an honor to serve as organist of Washington National Cathedral. It was particularly special to play American music there, such as Barber's Adagio for Strings.
