Julien Behr

Biography

Tenor Julien Behr began his musical path as a child in the Lyon Cathedral Choir before initially pursuing a master's degree in business law. Choosing to follow his passion for music instead of a legal career, he trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, graduating with top honors in 2010. He made his stage debut at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in the title role of Orpheus in the Underworld in 2009. He first appeared on recordings as a soloist on the 2010 album Christmas at San Marco with the Vocal Concert Dresden. Behr played Don José in Carmen on the 2026 recording by Hervé Niquet and L'Opéra Royal de Versailles.
