In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In 1999 I started my musical lessons on the (English) Tenor Horn, but it soon became clear that Euphonium was more my thing. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Black Dyke Band, David Childs, Nicholas Childs, Virtuoso: Music for Euphonium & Brass Band Jorijn van Hese, Music Friends, Low Brass, High Music Steven Mead, Euphonium Magic Vol.2 1 Actually the whole Ephonium Magic series, my great inspiration. 2 An album I had the privilege of recording with my musician friends, I treasure this. 3 A lovely selection of tracks to listen to, a brilliant euph soloist & a fantastic brass band Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Land of My Father (Euphonium Solo with Piano Accompaniment)” Henry J. Huisjes dedicated this beautiful Solo especially to me. This song adds an extra personal touch. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? fisit USA with the Amsterdam Staff Band, where we played at an ARC in New York. This is a Salvation Army place, where people disadvantaged in society lived due to various reasons. These people were so enthusiastic and grateful, It was heartwarming.
