Andrew Yee

Cellist Andrew Yee is a founding member of Attacca Quartet who has worked in popular media as well as classical music. With Attacca, they have won Grammy Awards for Orange (2019) and Evergreen (2022), which are both albums of Caroline Shaw's string quartets. Yee's cello playing was included on Billie Eilish's album Hit Me Hard and Soft (2024) and the score to Alfonso Cuarón's television series Disclaimer. They co-composed the score for Wu Tsang's film adaptation of Moby Dick; or, The Whale, which premiered with the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and received a performance by the New York Philharmonic at the Shed in 2022. The 2026 album, Or, The Whale, features a suite version of Yee's film score and other compositions alongside works by Caroline Shaw.
