Biography
Rufus Frowde is a British organist, pianist, conductor, and composer based in Hertfordshire, England. He has served as musical director of the VIVAMUS chamber choir since 2008, is the accompanist of the Hertfordshire Chorus, and became artistic director of the English Chamber Choir in 2024. As a composer, he writes mainly for choir and organ, producing carols, anthems, and other liturgical works alongside occasional instrumental and vocal pieces. His first recordings appeared in 2004, as organist on The Way to Heaven and Heaven's Happiness with James Cook's Voces Oxonienses. Further credits on albums of sacred music followed in 2007, 2020, and 2023. In 2026, he took part in a recording of choral works by Parry and Elgar with the Hertfordshire Chorus and the London Mozart Players.
