Ikon comprises singers assembled from across the United Kingdom for collaborative recording projects conducted by David Hill MBE. Rather than functioning as a permanent ensemble, Ikon convenes singers who have worked with Hill for approximately two decades to record specific repertoire. The group released a Christmas album in 2011, works by Richard Blackford in 2022, and a 2025 recording of secular choral works by Herbert Howells.
