In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is listening to the harpist who came to my primary school to demonstrate the harp. I fell in love with the sound. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alba Merchant, Andrew Foan, Simon Earl, Tredici, Paul Carr: The Light of Love Jessie Montgomery, Strum: Music for Strings Various Artists, Rachmaninoff Essentials I am impressed by the energy and vitality Jessie Montgomery brings to string orchestra music. I enjoy Paul Carr's romantic approach to string writing, and I think Rachmaninoff wrote some of the most beautiful melodies in the world. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Moments of Freedom 5: Sudden Light” Sudden Light is the first song I ever composed. Writing for voice , rather than strings, is a challenge for me, but something I have found I love; and it has also been a joy to discover beautiful poems like this one by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Some of the most memorable moments in my career were when the first pieces I composed were accepted by my publisher, and when I had such positive feedback from my publisher and from the composer Paul Carr to my string orchestra piece Clan. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to compose a ballad opera one day. I absolutely love The Beggars Opera, which I played in when I was 13. I love its directness and humour and, of course, the songs.
