In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I really didn’t like playing violin. My mom used to joke that my playing sounded like I was killing a chicken...lol! But when I discovered the piano, everything changed. I could finally express myself in a way that felt honest and natural. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? James Horner, A Beautiful Mind (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) James Horner, Bicentennial Man (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Simon Franglen, Avatar: The Way of Water (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Their soundtracks are masterfully composed and blend emotion, intellect, and imagination in a way that inspires my own creative work. Honestly, I just think they’re some of the best ever made—no shame in that Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Kaleidoscope: II. Cafe Without Sugar” It is a six-mallet piece and was composed in my early days. I wanted to have beautiful colors & sound on the marimba. (rather percussive approaches) Also, people can put it in the car and listen to it. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was performing at Carnegie Hall while I was sick. I was blown away by the sound in the hall, it felt surreal. To top it off, my boyfriend at the time was there, which made it even more unforgettable. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Collaborating with Taylor Swift & Loreen, no joke, that’s been on my bucket list for ages! Her storytelling and reinvention as an artist inspire me constantly. One day… who knows!
