RTS Symphony Orchestra
Biography
The RTS Symphony Orchestra is a major force in Serbian musical life. The group is one of several associated with Serbia's national radio and television networks. The RTS Symphony Orchestra is one of the oldest Eastern European orchestral ensembles associated with broadcast media. The orchestra was founded as part of Radio Belgrade in 1937. The current chief conductor of the RTS Symphony Orchestra is Bojan Suđić; he has held that post since 1992. From 2014 to 2021, he was also executive director of the entire Music Production office; he was succeeded by jazz trumpeter Freddie Stanisavljevic. Its principal guest conductor as of 2023 was Srba Dinić. In 2023, the RTS Symphony Orchestra and cellist Maja Bogdanovic released an album featuring cello concertos by Saint-Saëns and Lalo.
