Tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen specializes in Baroque music and has appeared with many leading European early music ensembles. In the late 2010s and 2020s, his career expanded beyond the Low Countries. In 2007, Van Mechelen gained attention with a performance in André Cardinal Destouches' Le Carnaval et la Folie at the European Baroque Academy in Ambronay, France. In 2013, Van Mechelen made his recording debut, backing Nicholas Achten on a recording of works by Purcell, How Pleasant 'tis to Love. His work has focused on early music but not exclusively; he recorded an album of songs by Édouard Lassen. In 2024, Van Mechelen appeared with Les Talens Lyriques on the group's recording of Lully's Atys.
