Erika Switzer

Biography

Collaborative pianist Erika Switzer has been widely heard in both her native Canada and in the U.S., where she is active as an educator. With a strong commitment to contemporary music, Switzer has been engaged with the question of art song and its future. In 2017, she appeared with her husband, Tyler Duncan, and various other musicians on the album Halcyon by composer Jocelyn Morlock. With Duncan and soprano Martha Guth, she released the album Andrew Staniland: Go by Contraries. Switzer and Duncan issued the album English Songs à la française in 2020, following that up in 2023 with A Left Coast, a collection of songs from Vancouver.
