Kenneth Kellogg

Biography

Kenneth Kellogg is an American operatic bass whose velvety, resonant voice and commanding stage presence have made him a sought-after talent for major roles, including the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni, Fasolt in Wagner's Das Rheingold, and Mephistopheles in Gounod's Faust. He had his debut at the Metropolitan Opera in 2025 as Colline in La Bohème. He also champions works that center African-American stories and composers, appearing as the Father in the premiere performance of Tesori and Thompson's opera Blue, named the best new opera of 2020 by the Music Critics Association of North America. Working with the Washington National Opera Orchestra, Kellogg participated in the recording of Blue in 2022. In 2025, he took the stage as the sultan in the first ever fully staged performance of Edmond Dédé's Morgiane, the earliest complete opera composed by an African-American composer. A recording of that performance was released in 2026.
