Biography
Leif Kaner-Lidström is a British-Swedish pianist and composer based in London whose versatile musicality spans jazz, classical, and the shades in between. He is known for his controlled, expressive touch at the piano and a careful, imaginative ear whether he is improvising, composing, or performing classical works. Among his most significant recordings is Swans (2025), a duo album with his father, cellist Mats Lidström. He also leads his own jazz quintet. As a composer and performer, Kaner-Lidström melds and floats across genres with ease. The single The Purpose, released in 2022 under the pseudonym Eriksson Kaner, has an immersive, dreamy, jazzy sound that showcases his genre-melding creativity. Under another pseudonym Erik Sigurd, he has released a substantial catalogue of improvised solo piano music. His releases, LKLQ - Live at 5db and Live at Lightship 95 Studios, both appeared in 2026.
