Richard Carrick

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Richard Carrick is the co-founder and artistic director of the Either/Or ensemble. An advocate for young composers, he has founded several mentorship programs around the world, aided by his recognition as a Guggenheim Fellow, and he is the chair of the composition department at the Berklee College of Music. Among his recordings with Either/Or are Richard Carrick: The Flow Cycle for Strings (2011) and Richard Carrick: Cycles of Evolution (2015). He has also issued several recordings performing his solo music, such as Stone Guitars (2014), on which he played guitar. In 2025, Carrick was heard with Either/Or on the album The Atlas, featuring the title work for extended piano and string quartet.
