Biography
Violist Hélène Clément is the violist of Britain's Doric String Quartet. She is also a notable educator and is a frequent guest at festivals as a performer-instructor. Clément has appeared with various high-profile chamber music partners, including cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, pianist Mitsuko Uchida, and violinist Alina Ibragimova, and she has performed with chamber and orchestral groups. In 2013, Clément joined the Doric String Quartet and has toured widely with that group. Clément and the Doric String Quartet have amassed a substantial catalog of recordings on the Chandos label, where the group began recording in 2010; Clément has appeared on most of those, including 2022's Mendelssohn: The String Quintets. Clément is on the faculty at the Royal Academy of Chamber Music in London, where she teaches viola and chamber music.
