Chloe Chua

Biography

Singaporean violinist Chloe Chua, born in 2007, won first prize in the Junior division of the 2018 Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists. She subsequently performed worldwide with leading orchestras, including the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the Singapore Symphony, becoming the latter’s youngest artist-in-residence to date for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons. In 2023, Chua released her debut album of music by Vivaldi and Locatelli on the Pentatone label. This was followed by a recording of the Butterfly Lovers Concerto. She began recording Mozart’s Violin Concertos when she was 15, and released them in 2025. A student of Kolja Blacher in Berlin, Chua plays a 1753 Guadagnini violin.
