Kathleen Kajioka

Biography

Violist and violinist Kathleen Kajioka is a versatile musician whose performances range from Baroque music to pop of various kinds to Middle Eastern music. She is also an educator and is well-known in Canada as a classical music broadcaster. As a member of Ensemble Masques, she has a long list of classical recording credits, and she has appeared on pop albums by artists from Anne Murray to folk star Bruce Cockburn. Kajioka has appeared on several critically noted albums with Ensemble Masques, including 2013's Johann Heinrich Schmelzer: Sacro-Profanus; Sonatas, and her output includes such unusual items as John Bullard's The Classical Banjo: The Perfect Southern Art (2016). Kajioka appeared with Ensemble Masques on the album Bach, Telemann, Albinoni: Concerti, in 2025.
