Andrea Marchiol

Biography

Italy's Andrea Marchiol works mostly in the Baroque music field, conducting opera and serving as a continuo player in opera and chamber music. He is also in demand for seminars in Baroque music performance. In 2009, Marchiol conducted a production of Handel's Ezio, HWV 29, at the Theater Bonn in Germany. As a harpsichordist and continuo player, Marchiol has appeared in major international venues. In 2013, he backed mezzo-soprano Cecilia Bartoli and the orchestra I Barocchisti on Bartoli's Mission tour. In 2022, Marchiol made his recording debut as chief conductor in composer Johann Mattheson's 1710 opera Boris Goudenow with the ensemble Theresia.
