Violinist and composer Pauline Kim Harris focuses on contemporary and avant-garde music, having collaborated internationally with leading new music groups and premiered many newly composed works. She often works with progressive rock musicians and performs in nontraditional venues. She is married to violinist Conrad Harris, with whom she performs as String Noise. From the beginning of her career, she made appearances on pop recordings, beginning with Lisa Loeb's Firecracker album. One breakthrough came in 2012 when Harris recorded John Zorn's Passagen for the 2013 album John Zorn: Lemma. Harris has issued several albums as a soloist, including Wild at Heart, featuring a group of works inspired by the Chaconne from Bach's Partita No. 2 for solo violin, BWV 1004, in 2021.
