Marianna Shirinyan

Biography

Pianist Marianna Shirinyan is a versatile artist whose repertory extends from Bach to contemporary works. In 2011, Shirinyan made her debut recording, backing violinist Hrachya Avanesyan on an album of works by Dvořák. Shirinyan has recorded mainly Romantic works. She accompanied soprano Elise Caluwaerts on the 2023 album Alma: Meine Seele -- Complete Songs of Alma Mahler. Shirinyan has served as artistic director of the Fejø Chamber Music Festival and the Oremandsgaard Kammermusikfest. She taught for some years at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, where she has continued to hold guest professorships, and she is a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo.
