Philip Langridge

A welcome addition to the 20th century's operatic canon, tenor Philip Langridge spent nearly half-a-century as one of England's great interpreters of opera and oratorio. Audiences and critics alike lauded him for not only the power of his voice, but the clarity of his lyrical delivery, as well as the works he enjoyed bringing to life, including English-language material by fellow countrymen Benjamin Britten and Sir Harrison Birtwistle.
