In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being shocked in primary school when I discovered my classmates didn’t know about Kodály rhythm syllables. Apparently, I was part of a music study at Temple University when I was a baby, so perhaps rhythm really was seared onto my soul. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Emi Ferguson, Ruckus, Fly the Coop: Bach Sonatas and Preludes Glenn Gould, Glenn Gould Plays Bach: Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 (The Historic 1955 Debut Recording & The 1981 Digital Recording) Stewart Goodyear, Ravel: Piano Music I adore the juxtaposition of Glenn Gould's 1955 and 1981 Goldberg Variations on one album--an incredible window into how artists evolve and how saying the same thing differently is saying something different! FtC is Bach with total abandon--amazing! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Midsummer Music” I love the Midsummer Music because it is so evocative--it's a really contemporary and adventurous work but wrapped in a velvet glove. Somehow like Beethoven's 1st symphony in that way. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I will never forget performing for the Speaker of Parliament in his apartment--steps away from the bed where the Monarch spends the night before the coronation. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to play at the Proms. There's nothing like the energy of 5000 people in the Albert hall getting worked up over classical music.
