Biography
Flutist Marc Hantaï has a large catalog of recordings, both as a soloist and as a member of various Baroque chamber groups. He is also a noted educator. Hantaï is the brother of keyboardist Pierre Hantaï and viola da gamba player Jérôme Hantaï, with whom he has frequently performed, individually and together as a trio. In 1991, Marc appeared on recordings for the first time with Jordi Savall and Le Concert des Nations on their recording Bach: Les Quatre Ouvertures. Hantaï has served at one time or another as principal flutist with Les Arts Florissants and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, among other groups. In 2022, he was heard on an album of Haydn trios with Jérôme Hantaï and Alix Verzier. By that time, his catalog comprised some 45 recordings.
