Claire Chase
Biography
Flutist and educator Claire Chase is also known as an advocate for contemporary music and as a creator of new systems and places for its development. She has given the world premieres of at least 100 works and has commissioned many more. In 2001, Chase founded the International Contemporary Ensemble. Chase is on the faculty at Harvard University. She has a substantial recording catalog that includes the 2025 album Anna Thorvaldsdottir: Ubique.
