Biography
The Royal Swedish Navy Band is a durable ensemble that has recorded music by John Philip Sousa as well as by Scandinavian composers. One of three military bands maintained by Sweden's armed forces, the group has roots stretching back as far as 1680. In its modern incarnation, it has toured widely, including to the United States for that country's bicentennial celebrations, as well as fulfilling military and state functions in Sweden. The band has made several recordings, including a series devoted to march composer Carl Teike that was inaugurated in 2024.
