Biography

Dominik Wollenweber has been the English horn (cor anglais) player of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 1993. He also plays the closely related oboe and has made a variety of recordings on both instruments. Outside his regular work with the Berlin Philharmonic, Wollenweber has been best known for his career on recordings, which began in 1999 when he was heard on a Winds of the Berlin Philharmonic recording of Beethoven's early wind music. He was heard as a soloist with oboist Vilém Veverka on a recording of oboe concertos by Vivaldi, Bach, and Telemann label in 2015. In 2021, Wollenweber released a solo album, The Art of the English Horn.
