Yulianna Avdeeva

Pianist Yulianna Avdeeva has played and recorded a variety of music since becoming a rare female winner of the International Chopin Piano Competition. Identified with 19th century music and sometimes playing instruments from that period, she has also championed the works of Dmitri Shostakovich. Avdeeva live-streamed performances of some of that composer's youthful works during the COVID-19 pandemic, and she has maintained online contact with her fans. She has recorded for the Mirare, Deutsche Grammophon, and Pentatone labels, issuing the album Chopin: Voyage on the latter in 2024.
