Norman Shetler
Biography
Pianist Norman Shetler spent most of his career in Vienna, Austria, where he was active as not only a pianist but also an educator, puppeteer, and puppet maker, and sometimes, he merged music and puppetry in performance. Shetler had a long career that included participation in the first Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. He was also a prominent educator in Austria. Shetler left a substantial recording catalog as a collaborative pianist and soloist. He died in Vienna at 93 on June 25, 2024.
