Ensemble Aedes
Biography
France's 17-voice Ensemble Aedes performs music from the Baroque to the contemporary era, emphasizing the latter. The group is notable for its frequent performances of works in staged or semi-staged programs. Ensemble Aedes was formed in 2005 by Mathieu Romano, who remained its director as of the early 2020s. The ensemble appeared on the album Brel & Barbara: A Cappella in 2018. Ensemble Aedes appeared on various operatic and ballet recordings before releasing its debut as a primary artist, Majesté: Lalande, in 2018. Ensemble Aedes issued a recording of Stravinsky's Les noces and a choral adaptation of Ravel's Bolero in 2023.
