Ensemble Acht

Biography

The durable German strings-and-winds octet Ensemble Acht has been cultivating larger chamber music repertory since the early '90s. The group's large repertory is rooted in the Classical and Romantic eras, but the players often explore music of other periods, including contemporary works, often in collaboration with other musicians. Ensemble Acht has a substantial recording catalog dating back to just a few years after the group's formation. In 2025, the group backed tenor Klaus Florian Vogt on a recording of a new octet arrangement of Schubert's song cycle Die schöne Müllerin, D. 795.
