Verdi Quartet

Biography

Germany's Verdi Quartet recorded works by lesser-known composers such as Wilhelm Berger in addition to Schubert and Brahms. In live performance, the group was a familiar presence at chamber music festivals in Germany, France, and Switzerland, and it held a prominent residency in the U.S. Before disbanding in 2021, the Verdi Quartet amassed a substantial recording catalog on CPO, Hänssler, and other labels. Its 2017 recording of the complete string quartets of Ralph Vaughan Williams was issued by CPO in 2024.
