Biography

The Dudok Quartet Amsterdam is an enthusiastic and energetic string quartet that has a repertoire spanning eras from the Renaissance to new works on commission. The Dudok Quartet was founded in 2009, fashioning its name after architect Willem Marinus Dudok. Its current members are violinists Judith van Driel and Marleen Wester, violist Marie-Louise de Jong, and cellist David Faber. The quartet has toured throughout Europe and the U.S. and has a growing catalog of recordings, including Reflections in 2022, which featured music by Shostakovich and Grazyna Bacewicz. The group launched a period-performance-inspired survey, including the use of gut strings and specialty bows, of Tchaikovsky's string quartets in 2024, with the second volume appearing in 2025.
