Barry Douglas
Biography
Catapulted to international stardom by his 1986 victory at the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, Barry Douglas' career has rivaled that of a previous non-Russian to win that coveted gold medal, Van Cliburn. Douglas has given recitals around the glove and performed concertos with many of the world's leading orchestras. Later in his career, he devoted himself more to conducting as the founder and director of Camerata Ireland. In 2024, Douglas issued the album Schubert: Works for Solo Piano, Vol. 7.
