Philharmonie Festiva

Biography

The German orchestra Philharmonie Festiva specializes in the symphonies of Anton Bruckner, focusing on a complete traversal of these works with all their many versions. Philharmonie Festiva was founded in 2008 by Gerd Schaller, who remains its conductor. He founded the Ebrach Summer Festival in Germany's Franconia region in 1990, and the group's performances have been centered there. The group also performs and records works by other composers, often emphasizing little-known music of the 19th century. In 2025, the group released the album Bruckner 3, Version 1877.
